Georgia and Florida are set to square off in just over 24 hours in Jacksonville for the 100th meeting in the World’s Largest Cocktail Party. DawgsHQ is headed down to TIAA Bank Stadium to be on hand.

So far this week, we’ve kept you up to date on everything coming out of the Georgia camp. That includes updates from any time that head coach Kirby Smart has spoken with the media. Now, we take you south to Gainesville to hear what Florida head coach Dan Mullen has had to say before Saturday’s matchup.

On Georgia’s Starting Quarterback Situation

“I don’t know. Have they named a starting quarterback? I mean, I can’t, that’s shocking. Yeah, it’s their number one deal, right? Who their starter is is much much bigger than ours. They’re the number one team so, I’m shocked that anybody can even look at our situation.”

On Stetson Bennett and JT Daniels

“They have two quarterbacks that you know manage the game very very well you know and by that, they get them into the right read, to run checks, make plays and then are able to distribute the ball down the field to playmakers really well.”

On Georgia’s Run Game

“I do think a lot of it starts off the run game and their ability to physically run the ball to create the matchups with the athletes on the outside. And then you know, I’ve seen both their quarterbacks do a great job when they do that when you give them the matchups they’re going to take advantage of it.”

On Georgia Being Ranked No. 1

“It’s a pretty unique deal. It’s the second time we’re getting to play the No. team in the same season. Not many people usually get to do that. That doesn’t happen very often, especially in the regular season. I think it will be a pretty big game for our guys. Obviously, this is the Florida-Georgia game. It’s always a big game for our guys. I thought they had a pretty good week of practice. … I think our guys are pretty excited for the game.”

On Georgia’s Run Defense

“Looking at them, it would be the physicality of them up front. I thought they were a very good physical front last year. How they use their physicality in the front 7 is even better than it was last year.”
