2026 3-star defensive back Lawrence Timmons commits to Indiana

Indiana football added another commitment out of the 2026 high school class in the form of defensive back Lawrence Timmons.

Timmons, a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, announced his commitment to Curt Cignetti and the Hoosiers via social media on Monday night.

Timmons is rated as a three-star recruit and a top-50 cornerback in the country, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.

A 5-foot-10, 175-pound defensive back, Timmons landed with the Hoosiers over the likes of Pitt, West Virginia, Wisconsin and a handful of others.

This past season at Pine-Richland High School, Timmons spent time playing on both sides of the ball.

Defensively, Timmons posted 42 total tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss, a sack, four interceptions and 10 passes defended from his spot in the secondary. He also added three forced fumbles and a pair of fumble recoveries.

On the offensive side of the ball, played wide receiver, where he caught 40 passes for 755 yards and eight touchdowns. He also added eight carries for 108 yards on the ground as a junior last season.

Timmons’ commitment comes following an official visit he took to Bloomington this past weekend.

Indiana’s 2026 recruiting class now features six pledges. Timmons joins four-star athlete Henry Ohlingerthree-star offensive lineman Samuel Simpsonthree-star defensive lineman Rodney White, three-star defensive back — and the top ranked player in the state of Indiana — Kasmir Hicks and linebacker Jacob Savage.
