Arkansas transfer guard Phoenix Stotijn commits to Indiana

Indiana women’s basketball landed a significant addition to its backcourt with the commitment of Arkansas transfer Phoenix Stotijn on Sunday night.
The 5-foot-9 guard from Amsterdam, Netherlands, announced her decision via social media, giving the Hoosiers an international talent with three years of eligibility remaining.
Stotijn, who played one season at Arkansas, made an impression during her freshman campaign despite a turbulent year for the Razorbacks, who finished 10-22 and parted ways with head coach Mike Neighbors in March. Stotijn started 12 of the 21 games she appeared in, averaging 7.2 points, 2.2 assists, and 1.5 rebounds in 25.7 minutes per game.
She recorded a career-high 23 points in an 80-71 win at Texas A&M on March 2, one of four games in which she scored in double figures. Stotijn also showed flashes of playmaking ability, posting five games with four or more assists.
While her shooting percentages—31.7% from the field, 26% from three, and 52.4% from the free-throw line—left room for improvement, her international resume adds a layer of promise to her potential in Bloomington.

A product of the Netherlands National Team system, Stotijn averaged 15.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 2.4 assists at the 2023 U18 European Championships, including a standout 27-point performance against the United Kingdom where she knocked down 7-of-9 from deep in just 20 minutes.
She also represented the Netherlands in the FIBA 3×3 U17 Europe Cup and played for Triple Threat in Holland, where she posted 13.6 points and 3.3 rebounds per game across eight appearances.
Stotijn enrolled at Arkansas midway through the 2023–24 season but did not dress during that initial stretch. She stepped into a larger role as the season progressed and will now look to continue her development as part of a new-look Hoosier team under Teri Moren next season.
With her combination of international experience and growing college reusme, Stotijn arrives in Bloomington poised to be a key contributor to Indiana’s backcourt for the next three seasons.
