As Indiana basketball continues to build out its roster the need for a shot-blocking and rim-protecting big man remains high on the priority list. Texas Tech transfer Federiko Federiko is a new name added to the list of potential transfer additions.

Federiko played in 32 games — with six starts — for the Red Raiders in 2024-25 and averaged 5.1 points, 4.5 rebounds and 0.7 blocks a game in 18.9 minutes. He shot 74.3 percent from the floor.

Federiko is a 6-foot-11 and 225-pound center who has great shot blocking ability and is a major threat in the paint on both ends of the floor.

During Texas Tech’s Elite Eight run in the NCAA Tournament, Federiko was critical in its Sweet Sixteen win over Arkansas, scoring seven points and adding nine rebounds.

His per-40 minute split averages this past season were: 10.9 points, 9.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.6 blocks and just 4.4 fouls a game.

Before Texas Tech, Federiko was a starter for two years at Pitt, where he averaged 5.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.5 blocks a game across 68 games (53 starts).

He was top-5 in the ACC in block rate and offensive rebound percent in both of his two seasons at Pitt.

He’s had 37 games with multiple blocks in his career.

Federiko has a career shooting percentage of 68 percent.

Federiko began his career at Northern Oklahoma where he was a NJCAA All-America honorable mention after averaging 11.7 points, 8.6 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game.

Indiana has added Sam Houston guard Lamar Wilkerson, DePaul guard Conor Enright, Troy guard Tayton Conerway, North Florida wing Jasai Miles, West Virginia wing Tucker DeVries and Davidson hybrid forward Reed Bailey through the transfer portal this offseason.
