Indiana guard Jason Drake held out of foreign tour due to 'lower-body injury'

Indiana basketball kicked off its foreign tour Wednesday night with a dominant 98-47 victory over Universidad de Bayamón.
Noticeably absent from the win was Drexel transfer guard Jason Drake. Head coach Darian DeVries confirmed postgame that Drake is dealing with a lower-body injury and did not travel with the team to Puerto Rico.
“He’s dealing with a lower-body injury right now,” DeVries said. “We’ll have more on that later.”

Drake was also one of two Hoosiers who did not participate in a media-open practice last week. He was limited to riding an exercise bike while the rest of the team went through drills.

The other player held out of that practice, Nick Dorn, did make the trip to Puerto Rico but did not see the floor on Wednesday. It’s unlikely he’ll play this week.
Drake averaged 11.1 points, 3.1 assists, and 3.0 rebounds per game in 33 appearances for Drexel during the 2024–25 season.
