Maryland transfer linebacker Kellan Wyatt commits to Indiana

Indiana football has landed its second spring commitment via the NCAA transfer portal this week with the addition of Maryland transfer linebacker Kellan Wyatt.
Wyatt, a 6-foot-2, 262-pound linebacker out of Glen Burnie, Maryland committed to the Hoosiers on Tuesday.
While Wyatt played linebacker at Maryland a season ago, he’s expected to play along the Hoosiers’ defensive front for the 2025 season. He has one year of eligibility remaining and brings a plethora of Big Ten experience to the Hoosiers’ front seven.
Wyatt appeared in 11 games a season ago for the Terrapins. He collected 30 total tackles, 8.0 tackles for loss — which led Maryland in 2024 — and 3.0 sacks. Wyatt added a pair of forced fumbles a season ago as well.
The best performance of the 2024 campaign for Wyatt came against the Hoosiers in late September. Wyatt recorded five total tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss and a sack in Indiana’s 42-28 win over Maryland in Bloomington last season.

Over the course of his three-year Maryland career, Wyatt appeared in 35 games. He’s totaled 80 total tackles, 16.0 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks throughout his collegiate career.
Wyatt joins Kent State defensive line transfer Stephen Daley as the second addition via the portal this week for Curt Cignetti and the Hoosiers.
He is expected to join a defensive front that will feature fellow transfers in Daley, Texas State defensive lineman Dominque Ratcliff and Western Kentucky defensive lineman Hosea Wheeler — as well as returning All-American Mikail Kamara.
Bringing Big Ten experience and three years worth of production to Bloomington, Wyatt will likely play a key role on Indiana’s defense this upcoming season.
