Where incoming Indiana basketball players rank in On3 transfer rankings

The transfer portal closed at midnight on Tuesday night and while there will be some names that trickle in over the next few hours — as schools have up to 48 hours to officially list a player in the portal — most of the players who will end up in the portal are the available names already. And while Indiana basketball is still putting together a roster, it has made a nice splash with some notable names.
As it stands, Indiana has three players ranked inside the top-50 of the On3 industry transfer rankings. That group is headlined by West Virginia transfer Tucker DeVries. DeVries is ranked the No. 15 and is the highest-rated incoming transfer. The 6-foot-7 wing averaged 14.9 points and shot 47.3 percent from three in just eight games last season before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury.
DeVries, son of head coach Darian DeVries, has one year of eligibility remaining. He is a career 36.7 percent three-point shooter and will be slotted in as likely one of the top-2 scorers for the Hoosiers this season.
Likely expected to be the leading scorer for Indiana is Sam Houston guard transfer Lamar Wilkerson. Wilkerson was down to Indiana and Kentucky before choosing the Hoosiers. He is ranked No. 32 overall.

The 6-foot-4 Wilkerson averaged 20.5 points per game last season and shot 44.5 percent from three. He is a career 40 percent three-point shooter across 95 games in his career. Like DeVries, Wilkerson has just one year remaining of eligibility.
That duo combined to make 7.7 3s a game last season while the entire Indiana basketball roster combined for just 6.3 a game in 2024-25.
The remaining top-50 player for the Hoosiers is Davidson forward transfer Reed Bailey. Bailey is a 6-foot-11 hybrid forward who is fantastic as a playmaker. He is ranked the No. 36 overall player in the rankings.
Bailey averaged 18.8 points, 6.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game this past season. While he’s not a high-volume shooter, he shot 41.5 percent from three and made 17 3s on the season. He, as well, has one year left.
Sam Alexis – who played for the National Champion Florida Gators last year – is the most recent IU commit and made his pledge to the Hoosiers late Thursday night. He is ranked No. 94 in the rankings. He is a 6-foot-9 athletic forward who plays with great energy and is a terrific rebounder and shot blocker.

Dorn will have two seasons remaining of eligibility.
