It’s been an interesting path for Addison Ostrenga. First, he was an Iowa baseball commit before a couple of football camp in the summer before his senior year led him to picking up a scholarship offer from the Hawkeyes.

While he still keeps in touch with some of the players that he got to know during the recruiting process who play baseball at Iowa, these days he’s bulking up to make an impact on the football field in 2023.

Last season, Ostrenga saw action in all 13 Iowa football games, but his activity at the tight end position was limited. He was able to catch just one pass during the season. This spring he’s taking what he has learned from veterans like Sam LaPorta, Erick All, and Luke Lachey and apply it even more on the field of play.

He discusses how his spring has gone, if he misses playing baseball, and the tight end position.
