In the first half of Iowa’s game against Illinois State, the Hawkeye offense looked a lot like the one that sputtered in the 2023 campaign. But, the Hawkeyes came out in the second half and dropped 34 points on the Redbirds and cruised to a 40-0 win on Saturday afternoon at Kinnick Stadium.
McNamara was solid his performance, but really strong in the second half when he connected on 13-14 throws. For the day, the Iowa quarterback completed 21-31 for 251 yards and three scores. He talks about his performance and the development of Reese Vander Zee.
