This weekend Caitlin Clark will be back in Iowa City as the Hawkeye women’s basketball program will officially retiring her #22 on Sunday afternoon when they face USC.

Before arriving back in Iowa City, Clark is giving back to the community that meant so much to her for her four years at the University of Iowa.

On Wednesday, the Caitlin Clark Foundation announced four grants for $22,000 each to Iowa charities that inspired her during her time at the University of Iowa. Those charities include: University of Iowa Children’s Hospital, Special Olympics Iowa-East Central, Boys and Girls Club of the Corridor, and Coralville Community Food Pantry.

“One of my favorite things about Iowa City is the way the community is connected and how everyone supports each other. It is something I felt during my time here and is important to me that I stay connected with. I am proud to be a part of each of these organization’s efforts and the meaningful impact they provide for the people of Iowa,” said Clark.

Clark has previously engaged with the four organizations whether providing product donations, participating in events and fundraising efforts, or visiting the Children’s Hospital, one of her favorite activities as a student athlete.

Mary Coffin, President of the Caitlin Clark Foundation, added, “The foundation is thrilled to support these organizations given their alignment with our mission statement and the three core pillars of uplifting youth through education, nutrition, and sports. Caitlin is an example for all of us on the impact one interaction can have and the legacy of uplifting others.”
