David Fason makes college decision

Cedar Rapids Prairie defensive lineman David Fason has made his college decision. The 6-foot-2, 253-pound Fason announced today that he has accepted a preferred walk-on opportunity with the Iowa Hawkeyes after two game day visits to campus this past month.
“I have been there a couple times and have always been welcomed,” said Fason. “I just love the environment and the people, everything about it.”
Through three games this season, Fason has already racked up 21.5 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, and six sacks for the Prairie Hawks, which impressed the Iowa coaching staff even if he is a bit undersized right now.
“Even though they knew I didn’t have the measurements, they gave me an opportunity,” Fason said. “It’s a great place and feels like home, so that’s where I want to be.”
