Deacon Hill shines in final spring practice
It hasn’t taken long for Wisconsin transfer Deacon Hill to rise up the ranks of the Iowa quarterback pecking order. Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz admitted after the final spring practice that more than likely, Hill was now the Hawkeyes backup signal caller.
That’s quite a move for Hill, who was packing and on his way to quarterback at Fordham before Iowa offensive coordinator and quarterback coach, Brian Ferentz, called to offer him a scholarship. He accepted and as they say, the rest is history.
Hill talks about his path to Iowa, learning the Hawkeye scheme and adjusting to the new terminology, and the quarterback room with Cade McNamara in it.
