The Iowa wide receiver room took a hit today when Diante Vines hit the transfer portal. The former three star prospect out of Danbury, CONN struggled to stay healthy in his Iowa career, but when he was not hurt, he became a part of the rotation at the wide receiver position.
Vines redshirted in his first year on the Iowa campus and played in five games as a redshirt freshman, but did not record any stats. Last season, Vines was finally healthy for the second half of the season after dealing with a wrist injury to begin the year. He had 10 receptions for 94 yards last season.

This year, Vines played in the first nine games of the season before dealing with an injury in the last few weeks. He did return to action on Saturday in the Big Ten title game. Vines has 12 receptions this season for 134 yards and one touchdown.
He will have two years of eligibility remaining.
Iowa will still have a solid receiver room even after the departure of Vines. Kaleb Brown, Seth Anderson, Jacob Bostick, Alex Mota, Jarriett Buie, and Dayton Howard all return as scholarship players. Kaden Wetjen and Alec Wick are walk-on’s who are potential contributors. They also have incoming freshman KJ Parker and Reese Vander Zee who will sign later this month. The Hawkeyes may now look for help in the transfer portal.
