Drew Stevens on his game winning field goal
Last year Drew Stevens hit a game winning field goal in frigid conditions in Minnesota. His second game winning field goal as a Hawkeye was into the right field bleachers at Wrigley Field.
The Iowa field goal kicker missed his first attempt of the game when he hit the right upright from 53 yards out. He didn’t miss in his second attempt from 53 yards in that direction. This time, Stevens said he hit the ball true and it sailed into the bleachers for the game winning points in a 10-7 victory for Iowa.
He talks about his process on that kick, what he learned from his first miss that he used in the second attempt, and the conditions for kicking today at Wrigley Field.
