Ettore Ewen named honorary captain

Former University of Iowa defensive lineman Ettore Ewen will serve as honorary captain when the Hawkeyes host Northwestern for Homecoming on Saturday on Duke Slater Field at Kinnick Stadium. Kickoff is set for 2:40 p.m. (CT) and the game will be televised on BTN.
Ewen was on the Hawkeyes from 2004-06, but season-ending knee injuries prior to the 2004 and 2005 seasons kept him sidelined for most of his time in Iowa City. He did play in 12 games in 2006, recording 14 tackles, including a half sack, and two quarterback hurries. The Hawkeyes competed in bowl games each of his three years — 2005 Citrus Bowl; 2006 Outback Bowl; 2006 Alamo Bowl.
“Big E” — Ewen’s ring name in World Wrestling Entertainment — is a six-time WWE Smackdown Tag Team Champion. He is also a two-time WWE Intercontinental champion and a former NXT Champion while at WWE’s development brand NXT.
