Fran McCaffery on the win over Alabama State
One of the hallmarks of a Fran McCaffery team is the fact that they usually do a good job of taking care of the basketball and keeping turnovers to a minimum. Friday night they took that to the extreme in the second half of their 98-67 win over Alabama State. Iowa turned it over zero times and finished the night with 27 assists to wrap up their second win of the season.
Following the win, McCaffery spoke to the media about his team not having any turnovers in the second half of the game and how that is just part of the way they play as a team. He also discusses the play and toughness of Brock Harding and how the flurry of points from Payton Sandfort was key just before the halftime break. Plus he looks ahead to Tuesday’s game against Creighton.
