Fran McCaffery on the loss at UCLA
It’s not unique to see a team go on the road and get “jumped”, as Fran McCaffery says from time to time. On Friday evening, Iowa got jumped by UCLA and never recovered. The Bruins build a lead in the first half based on scoring 57 points and Iowa never made any sort of run in this contest.
Following the loss to UCLA, McCaffery spoke to the media via Zoom and discussed what happened, particularly in the first half of the contest and his message to the team during that struggle early in the first half. He also discusses how his team responded, if he has concerns about their body language, and the status of senior wing Payton Sandfort.
