It’s been a tough stretch for the Iowa men’s basketball team over the last ten days. After a 5-2 start to the season, the Hawkeyes have lost three straight games by double digits, including a 25-point defeat at Iowa State and an 0-2 start in Big Ten play. This stretch of the schedule has caused Iowa issues in the past and they are now 4-14 during this three-game stretch since the Big Ten moved to their new schedule for the 2017-18 season. Fran McCaffery’s team has three games against non-conference games against Florida A&M, UMBC and Northern Illinois remaining before Big Ten play resumes, so there is opportunity to regain confidence before the new year.

Coach Fran McCaffery met with the media on Thursday morning to discuss the starting lineup going forward, the leadership within the team, trying to right the ship with a younger team and more.

Up Next, the Hawkeyes face the Florida A&M Rattlers on Saturday at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. Tipoff is set for 3:37pm and the game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
