Fran McCaffery meets with the media
Fran McCaffery is entering his 15th season as head coach of the Hawkeyes, but this season is one that is different from all of the others. It comes during a time where the transfer portal and NIL dominates the landscape, meanwhile the Big Ten just added four west coast schools to the conference. Iowa added Manhattan transfer Seydou Traore and Morehead State transfer Drew Thelwell in the portal, while Peyton Sandfort and Owen Freeman headline the returners. The Hawkeyes feel like they have an underrated squad.
McCaffery met with the media on Monday afternoon to talk about some of the newcomers, how they’ve adjusted and how they fit into what they want do. He also discussed making some defensive changes, gave a quick update on the ’25 recruiting class and going through the recruiting process with his son Jack.
