Fran McCaffery pleased with the season opening win
Fran McCaffery has spoke about how much he likes the team that he has this season. He likes the group of freshman that has come in and he feels like the team has a lot of depth. That depth was on display tonight, as the Hawkeyes defeated North Dakota 110-68 in the season opener. It is the most points scored in a season opener during the McCaffery era.
Six players scored in double figures and four players pulled down five or more rebounds. Fran spoke about the fast start that his team had, both offensively and defensively, as well as the performances from Owen Freeman, Dasonte Bowen and Ben Krikke.
