Gabbie Marshall talks Colorado guard play
In the Hawkeyes second round win over West Virginia, they played a game that was anything like their normal up-tempo games. The Mountaineers turned the matchup into a physical defensive battle and Iowa was able to answer with one of their best defensive efforts of the season. Spearheading that defensive attack was guard Gabbie Marshall. She helped turn the tides in the final minutes, blocking a three-point shot from JJ Quinerly, which led to a Syd Affolter basket, plus the foul on the other end. On Saturday, Iowa will be trying to replicate that performance against another physical opponent in Colorado.
Marshall met with the media on Friday afternoon to talk about the Buffaloes guard play, what each one does well and how the WVU matchup may have prepared them for this game. She also touched on her parents on how they helped shape her as a basketball player when she was younger.
