Grad transfer OL Rusty Feth headed to Iowa
Grad transfer offensive lineman Rusty Feth is headed to Iowa. The 6-foot-5, 305-pounder made the announcement today after completing an official visit with the Hawkeyes over the weekend.
A second-team All-MAC selection at Miami of Ohio last season, Feth has started at center each of the last two years for the Redhawks. Prior to that, he played offensive guard as a freshman and sophomore.
When Feth arrived at Miami-OH in the Class of 2019, George Barnett was his offensive line coach, so there is a natural connection there for the Hawkeyes with Barnett now serving in that role at Iowa.
In addition to Iowa, Feth picked up scholarship offers from Purdue, Virginia, and West Virginia, among others, after entering the transfer portal on January 23.

Currently, he is on track to graduate from Miami-OH in May and plans to transfer to Iowa in June with one year of eligibility remaining.
Impact for Iowa
As the Hawkeyes look to revamp their offense in 2023, it all starts upfront so getting a fifth year senior with Feth’s experience, especially at center, should help things quite a bit. He also has the versatility to slide over to guard if Logan Jones holds on to the starting job at center and can provide depth at all three interior offensive line positions. Also, Feth is very familiar with Iowa offensive line coach George Barnett and should be able to hit the ground running once he arrives on campus in June.
Iowa’s transfer additions
Overall, Feth is the sixth scholarship addition for the Iowa coaching staff from the transfer portal as he joins quarterback Cade McNamara, tight end Erick All, wide receiver Seth Anderson, offensive tackle Daijon Parker, and quarterback Deacon Hill. The Hawkeyes have also added walk-on transfers in tight end Hayden Large and wide receiver Austin Kutscher this winter.
