Hawkeye Report Podcast
What a crazy busy weekend for Hawkeye athletics! We have a great podcast that recaps all the action and puts it all in perspective. First we open with the Iowa women’s basketball team winning the Big Ten Tournament title on Sunday afternoon by demolishing Ohio State. We look at the greatness of Caitlin Clark and look at if the Hawkeyes will be a #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
Then we flip to men’s basketball and the very disappointing four point loss to Nebraska on Sunday afternoon that ended up costing the Hawkeyes a chance at a double bye in the Big Ten Tournament this week in Chicago. We discuss Iowa’s struggles on defense and if that will limit this team and the potential for a long run in March.
We then dive into Iowa wrestling and the titles for Spencer Lee at 125 and Real Woods at 141 pounds at the Big Ten Championship. Iowa finished second to Penn State, but it was relatively close. Could the Hawkeyes win at the NCAA Championships in Tulsa in a couple of weeks? We also discuss the Iowa baseball team, who is off to a 9-1 start, their best since 2015. Finally, we wrap up talking about Hawkeye football players once again impressing at the NFL Combine.
