Another week of the NFL season has come and gone, which means it’s time for another week of looking at the best performances from former Hawkeyes. At the moment, there are 29 players on active rosters, and an additional six players on the practice squad or injured reserve. Early last week, the Washington Commanders announced they were signing former Iowa DT Carl Davis to their practice squad. With that, we take a look back at the best performances of the week.

Honorable Mention Performances

DB Geno Stone– 7 tkls vs Cleveland

DB Riley Moss– 6 tkls vs New Orleans

DE AJ Epenesa– 3 tkls, 1 sk, 1 PD vs Tennessee

1. San Francisco TE George Kittle

George Kittle has been on quite the run over the last five weeks. Although the 49ers did not knock off the Chiefs, Kittle finished with six catches for 92 yards. It’s the fourth time this season that he has eclipsed five catches and the second time he has surpassed 75 receiving yards in a game. George did not catch a touchdown pass, which ended his career-best tying streak of four games with a touchdown reception.

On the season, Kittle has totaled 34 catches for 375 yards and five touchdowns. He ranks first amongst all tight ends in touchdowns, second in catches and second in yards.

2. Indianapolis RB Tyler Goodson

With the injury to Jonathan Taylor, Tyler Goodson has gotten his shot in the Colts backfield over the last couple of weeks. On Sunday against the Dolphins, Goodson got in the end zone for the first time in his NFL career. Goodson’s 7-yard touchdown run tied the game midway through the third quarter, with Indianapolis going on to win 16-10. Tyler finished the game with 14 carries for 51 yards, including a 19-yard rush. Over the last three games, Goodson has 34 touches, including seven receptions, for 173 yards (5.08 ypt).

3. Seattle TE Noah Fant

The Seahawks picked up a dominating 34-14 win over the Falcons on Sunday, and tight end Noah Fant had another solid game. Fant didn’t find the end zone, but he did catch four passes for 65 yards, including a 28-yard reception that helped set up Seattle for a touchdown in the second quarter.

On the season, Noah has totaled 24 receptions for 263 yards, with 14 of them going for first downs. His 71.4% receiving success rate ranks third-best amongst tight ends and seventh-best amongst all pass catchers.

Play of the Week: Cincinnati WR Charlie Jones

Yeah, I know, some people did not agree with his decision to transfer to Purdue, and generally, I do not include players that transferred away from the program, but this was worthy of the play of the week honor. In his second season with the Bengals, Charlie Jones has not been a part of the passing game, but has gotten chances in the return game. On Sunday, Jones returned the opening kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown against Cleveland.
