Hawkeyes on the disappointing loss
No team likes to lose on Senior Day. That was true for the Iowa basketball team on Sunday as they hoped to send their two senior players out on a high note. Instead the Hawkeyes struggled to get stops and make shots in the second half on their way to a disappoint 81-77 loss at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Patrick McCaffery led Iowa with 23 points and made a career high six three point field goals in the game. Meanwhile, Kris Murray chipped in with 22 points, but he was just 3-13 from three in the game. We spoke with both players after the game to discuss what went wrong down the stretch for Iowa and the changes Nebraska made defensively in the second half that caused the Hawkeyes problems.
