Sunday’s win over Maryland was a bit of an adventure for Iowa’s Connor McCaffery. While he usually spends most of his time at the guard or small forward position, due to foul trouble for Kris Murray and Filip Rebraca in the first half, McCaffery spent time at the center position.
Truth be told, McCaffery didn’t mind the work in the post and he said it helped Iowa push their tempo a bit more during that stretch. Following the win over Maryland, the head coaches son spoke about the bounce back performance from Tony Perkins, the small lineup in the first half for the Hawkeyes, and their confidence growing as a team.
