The Iowa Women’s Basketball will be back in action at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Sunday evening when they host in-state rival Drake. The Bulldogs come into the contest with a 3-0 record, including a win over Iowa State their last time out.
The Hawkeyes enter Sunday’s contest with a 3-1 record, including wins over #9 Virginia Tech and Northern Iowa. After jumping up to #2 in the AP Poll this past week, Iowa dropped Thursday’s contest to Kansas State by a final score of 65-58. Iowa will be looking to bounce back against Drake, but head coach Lisa Bluder has had a lot of success against her former school. The Hawkeyes have won 19 of their last 20 matchups against the Bulldogs, including a thrilling overtime win at the Knapp Center last season.
Drake is coming off a 22-10 season, where they won the MVC Tournament and earned a bid the NCAA Tournament. This season, the Bulldogs are 3-0, with wins over St Thomas, Saint Louis and Iowa State. Drake is led by second year head coach Allison Pohlman.
