While some might view this as a classic sandwich game for the Iowa football team with Western Michigan between Iowa State and Penn State on the road, the Hawkeye players certainly aren’t looking past the Broncos. In fact, Kirk Ferentz addressed it in the team meeting this week remind the team that he has a 1-2 record at Iowa against Western Michigan.

With all that in mind, the Iowa players are preparing for this game and the up tempo offense run by the Broncos, who ran upwards of 90 plays in their opening game of the season. We spoke with several defensive players about the pace that they expect and how Utah State helped prepare them for it. Jay Higgins and company say they are ready for the pace and happy to have corner Jermari Harris back in the fold.

On the offensive side, the Hawkeye wide receivers are in just win mode when it comes to being worried about their lack of receptions. They just want to win and shared that Cade McNamara is putting in extra work this week to continue to build timing on the field.
