Iowa players disappointed in loss to Maryland
It wasn’t hard to see the pain and emotion on the faces of Payton Sandfort and Tony Perkins. Both veteran Iowa players were near tears following Iowa’s hard fought loss to Maryland on Wednesday night at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Both players felt like they could have and should have done more in the loss to the Terps, particularly at the end of the game where Jahmir Young drove down the left side of the lane for the game winning basket in the final seconds. The Iowa players discuss that play, the struggles to score in the final five minutes of the game, and how the Iowa team will be able to move forward following the disappointing outcome.
