2025 forward prospect talks Iowa visit
The Iowa basketball program brought in several recruits on Sunday for the game against Minnesota. It proved to be a very good game with the Hawkeyes rallying from down 20 points in the second half to beat the rival Gophers, 90-85.
One of the prospects that was in attendance was 2025 forward Brady Wooley. He’s a 6-foot-9 prospect from Orono High School in Minnesota. The emerging forward had visited Iowa last fall, but this was his first basketball game in Iowa City and he came away impressed.
“I had toured the campus and went to a basketball game at Iowa this fall,” Wooley said. “This was my first basketball game and it was a lot of fun. The arena was super loud when Iowa was making their comeback and it was a fun game to watch.”
The Hawkeye coaches have been aware of Wooley for some time, but their interest is continuing to ramp up with assistant coach Matt Gatens leading the charge.
“I started hearing from Coach Gatens heading into my sophomore year and he has come up to see me a couple of times and Coach Dillard has seen me as well a few weeks ago. But, that was after I broke my arm, so I couldn’t play.”

Before the arm was broken, Wooley was averaging 16 points and 14 rebounds a game in Class 3A in Minnesota. He said he expects to be back as soon as this weekend from the injury that was expected to take six to eight weeks to heal.
This summer, Wooley will be playing his first AAU season with D1 Minnesota on the Adidas circuit. That means the Class of 2025 prospect will get watched by Fran McCaffery quite a bit because his son, Jack, will also be on that D1 Minnesota squad.
“I actually just met Jack for the first time on Sunday. I know with him on the team that Coach McCaffery will be watching me quite a bit this spring and summer.”
Iowa is still in the evaluation stage with Wooley, but that could change this spring as he continues to develop as a player. In addition to Iowa, he is hearing from Minnesota, Iowa State, Clemson, Xavier North Dakota, North Dakota State, South Dakota, South Dakota State, Butler, and Yale. He hopes to visit Yale and perhaps Clemson or Xavier in the coming months.
