Iowa players proud of defensive effort
After giving up 116 points in a loss at Wisconsin just eight days ago, defensive has been a focus point for the Iowa basketball team. It really took hold in the final fifteen minutes of regulation against Nebraska and then it was in full force on Saturday night holding Indiana 19 points under their average in an 85-60 win over the Hoosiers at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Following the win, Owen Freeman, who had four blocks and three steals, and Drew Thelwell, who had six steals, along with Payton Sandfort, who scored 21 of his 23 points after halftime, discuss the effort that took place on the defensive end of the floor. They also talk about the way that they were able to limit Indiana’s big man in this game and keep them off balance for most of the night.
