Saturday Snap Counts - Iowa Offense
The Iowa offense couldn’t have asked for a better start. They scored on their first two drives. One was a quick strike from the arm of Cade McNamara and the other was a more methodical traditional drive that was finished by a touchdown toss to Erick All.
Iowa finished the day with 24 points, which was good enough for a ten point victory. They also rolled up 284 yards of total offense, including 196 in the air. The ground game was kept in check by the Aggies with only 88 net yards.
Let’s take a look at the snap counts for the Iowa offense based on 69 snaps against Utah State.
QUARTERBACK
Cade McNamara – 62
Deacon Hill – 7
TAKEAWAY – There were times in the later stages of the third quarter when it looked like Hill was going to come into the game to replace McNamara. But, he finished one last scoring drive and then Hill entered the game.
RUNNING BACK
Kaleb Johnson – 30
LeShon Williams – 20
Jaziun Patterson -17
Hayden Large – 7
TAKEAWAY – Williams got a lot of work in the first half, but cramping limited him in the second half. Johnson picked up the slack, as did Patterson, who had a nice game.

WIDE RECEIVER/TIGHT END
Luke Lachey – 56
Seth Anderson – 52
Erick All – 48
Diante Vines – 42
Kaleb Brown – 21
Nico Ragaini – 15
Steven Stillianos -15
Kaden Wetjin – 13
Addison Ostrenga – 8
TAKEAWAY – I think we all knew Lachey would be a workhorse and he is. All also picked up a lot of snaps. Surprised to see Anderson with that many snaps, but he played well and had a touchdown reception. Right now it looks like Wetjin is the jet sweep guy for Iowa. Good to see Kaleb Brown out there for 21 snaps.
OFFENSIVE LINE
Mason Richman – 66
Logan Jones – 62
Gennings Dunker – 59
Connor Colby – 41
Rusty Feth – 38
Nick DeJong – 34
Tyler Elsbury – 28
Kade Pieper – 7 (Iowa did not list him on their participation chart, so checking on this one)
Jeremy Chaplin – 7
Daijon Parker – 3
TAKEAWAY: Iowa pretty much stuck with their tackles (Richman and Dunker) and their center (Jones) the entire game. Then they rotated away at guard between DeJong, Colby, Feth, and Elsbury. Not sure Kade Pieper actually played.
