It’s hard to believe, but in the first game last season, Iowa only had one healthy scholarship player on the field. This year they will have a full complement of players and they hope that it will lead to more big plays and points on the scoreboard.

On Tuesday, two players who were nursing injuries a year ago declared themselves healthy and ready to go for the season opening contest against Utah State. Those two players are Nico Ragaini and Diante Vines.

Ragaini has been joking about following a load management protocol during fall camp, but regardless, the important thing is the sixth year senior is healthy and ready to play. Last year, Vines was also on the sidelines for the first half of the year. He has been one of the more buzzed about players in fall camp and talks about the upcoming season for the Iowa passing game.
