Report: Iowa to face USC and UCLA in 2024
The Big Ten will be releasing their 2024 football schedule on Thursday afternoon, but bit and pieces have begun to leak out to the media. This will be the first year that USC and UCLA will be part of the Big Ten Conference, so there is quite a bit of anticipation as to which schools would be on their schedule.
According to Brett McMurphy from the Action Network, Hawkeye fans will be traveling to California at some point in the 2024 season. McMurphy reports that Iowa will play at Southern Cal and they will also host UCLA. He also noted that the Hawkeyes will travel to Ohio State.
Iowa and USC last faced each other in the 2019 Holiday Bowl in San Diego with the Hawkeyes winning that contest 49-24. Prior to that, the Trojan defeated Iowa in the 2003 Orange Bowl, 38-17. The last time the two schools met in the regular season was back in 1976 when the Hawkeyes lost 55-0. Overall, USC holds a 7-3 edge in the series. The last time Iowa played at USC was in 1975 with the Trojans winning 27-16.

The Hawkeyes and the Bruins has faced each other nine times. UCLA holds a 6-3 advantage in the overall series. The last meeting between the two schools was in the 1985 Rose Bowl with the Bruins winning, 45-28. The last time the Hawkeyes hosted UCLA in Iowa City was in 1981 with Iowa winning the contest 20-7.
Iowa will also travel to Ohio State, according to McMurphy. After not playing the Buckeyes since 2017 and not playing in Columbus since 2013 before last season, Iowa will be back to Ohio again in 2024. The Buckeyes hold a 47-15-3 edge in the overall series and the last time the Hawkeyes beat the Buckeyes in Columbus was 1991 when Iowa won, 16-9.
