Hawkeye Report Podcast on spring ball and the NFL Draft
The Iowa football team wrapped up spring practice on Saturday and that provided us with plenty to discuss on the latest edition of the Hawkeye Report Podcast. We were honored to be joined by our great friend Scott Dochterman from The Athletic to discuss what we learned about the Hawkeyes on Saturday.
Has the Iowa offense improved? Are the Hawkeyes in much better shape at the quarterback position and is the offensive line showing growth? We also look at the defensive side of the football where Iowa appears to be really deep along the defensive line and has plenty of options at linebacker. Then we look at the strongest group, the Hawkeye secondary.
Finally we dive into the NFL Draft, which starts later this week. We try and figure out when Lukas Van Ness will go off the board. Will he be a Chicago Bear? Is there a chance that All American linebacker Jack Campbell ends up going in the first round? Could Sam LaPorta end up being the third tight end drafted this year? Will Riley Moss end up in the second or third round? Plus, we look at next year’s draft and discuss if Cooper DeJean could be a first round pick.
