Hawkeye players talk wild win over Indiana
The Iowa Hawkeyes were in desperate need of a win and for the first ten minutes of the game against Indiana it looked like there was little chance that they get it. Iowa trailed by as many as 21 points in the first half and were giving up easy baskets to Indiana in the paint, which resulted in the big lead for the Hoosiers.
Led by forwards Kris Murray and Filip Rebraca, Iowa continued to chip away at the Hoosiers lead, cutting it to ten at the break and eventually taking the lead on a basket by Rebraca. The Hawkeyes gave that lead back, but led by Murray down the stretch, Iowa salted away a much needed first win in conference play, 91-89.
Murray finished with 30 points to lead the Hawkeyes. It was the fourth time this season that the junior forward surpassed the 30 point mark. Rebraca finished his night with 19 point and tied Murray for the rebound lead with 10. Following the game, Murray and Rebraca met with the media to discuss the Hawkeyes rally from down 21 points and the way that they finished off the game.
