Fran McCaffery talks win over Nittany Lions
It wasn’t hard to tell that while Iowa head coach Fran McCaffery was thrilled that his team broke a three game losing streak, it wasn’t exactly the type of finish that he was hoping for. Iowa limped home missing multiple front ends of one and one’s, but held on for a 76-75 victory on Friday evening at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
McCaffery spoke to the media following the game about the struggles down the stretch, the terrific play from Drew Thelwell and how he cracked 1,000 career points in this game. He also spoke about the quarter zips that he and his staff were wearing for the Coaches vs. Cancer week coming up next week and the defensive decisions that he made in the final seconds of the game.
