Iowa players talk win over Rutgers
The Iowa basketball players got over the hump. After three straight losses to open conference play, the Hawkeyes used a solid shooting effort and passionate defense to open the game and rode that to an 86-77 victory over Rutgers.
Following the victory, Payton Sandfort, who scored 24 points and pulled down 8 rebounds and Ben Kirkke, who had 19 points and 10 rebounds spoke to the media about the victory. Sandfort said that the basket felt like the ocean on Saturday as he made five three point field goals. He and Kirkke, also credited unselfish play and finding their teammates for easy baskets as keys to the win over the Scarlet Knights.
