Team effort leads Iowa to win over Washington

When your team is short-handed with multiple players either significant injured or out, you need a team effort to win a basketball game in the Big Ten. Iowa had that kind of effort on Saturday afternoon inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Iowa rallied after trailing most of the game to beat Washington, 85-78 to pick up their 15th win this season and sixth in Big Ten play.
The team effort was led by Payton Sandfort, who scored 27 points, including making 12 of 13 from the foul line with many of those in the final minutes of the contest. It also included Carter Kingsbury. While he only scored three points and only had one rebound, his nearly 29 minutes of action were key in limiting the Huskies top scorer, Great Osobor. Then there was Riley Mulvey, who came off the bench in the second half to score nine points and he picked up a huge charge late in the second half. They discuss the win over Washington, their contributions, If Payton called bank on his three pointer, and how this team has stuck together during tough times.
