Iowa to host Michigan State at night

The Iowa football team will be playing in back to back night games. On Monday it was announced that the Hawkeyes will be hosting Michigan State next Saturday and the kickoff will be at 6:30 p.m. NBC is scheduled to broadcast the contest between the Hawkeyes and the Spartans.
This weekend Iowa will be playing at Penn State under the lights in Happy Valley. That game will be broadcast on CBS with kickoff also set for 6:30 p.m. central time.

Iowa first played a night game back in 1992 when they hosted Miami (FL). Overall, the Hawkeyes are 14-7 in night games. The Hawkeyes have played Penn State four times in night games with their record being 1-3 in those contests.
This will be the first time that the Hawkeyes and the Spartans will tangle under the lights in Iowa City. Iowa has a 10-4-1 record when they play on a game broadcast on NBC. The last time the Iowa football team played on NBC was the Rose Bowl on January 1, 1986 when the Hawkeyes lost to UCLA, 45-28.
