Iowa lands commitment from 2025 wing prospect

The roster building continues for the Iowa basketball team. Like last week, it was a player from the high school ranks that has been added to the roster. However, this time it’s not an in-state standout, but a player who has a history with new Iowa head coach Ben McCollum.
As we have been saying for more than week, former Drake signee Tate Sage was expected to flip his commitment to Iowa and join McCollum’s first Iowa recruiting class. He announced today that he would officially be coming to Iowa City and be a Hawkeye.
This past season, Sage helped lead his Weathford High School team to state title in Oklahoma. The 6-foot-7 wing averaged 13.1 points per game this past season and he earned first team All State honors.

He will join West Des Moines Valley prep standout, 6-foot-11 post Trevin Jirak in filling out the freshman class for McCollum in his first year at Iowa.
With this addition, Iowa is now at ten players on scholarship and 11 total players.. McCollum expects to get that number to increase by at least two more. The focus will almost certainly be on adding a big man and a point or combo guard.
