Ethan Harris has been offered by Iowa.

One thing that Iowa fans will begin to realize about Ben McCollum is that an offer from the Iowa head coach means something. It’s not like candy being handed out at Halloween. It’s a meaningful and selective and that’s exactly what happened during the visit by 2026 forward Ethan Harris.

The 6-foot-8 forward from Camas, Washington concluded his official visit to Iowa on Wednesday and left Iowa City with an offer from the Hawkeyes in hand.

Iowa had been watching Harris closely during the spring and into the summer months. McCollum was draw to Harris because he likes to collect players with length who can play a variety of different positions.

“As for Iowa, what stands out with them is just the climb that they’ve made. Their coaching staff went from a D2 school to now Iowa in a couple of years. They’ve won everywhere they’ve been. I think Coach (Ben) McCollum said—the way he describes it, he has these, what he calls hybrids, and he said I would fit perfectly into that group. Just like that—I mean, I don’t really know how to describe it. He likes me as one of his hybrids. It pretty much describes itself as a player who can kind of do everything,” Harris told Jamie Shaw from Rivals.com last week.

This year on the Puma circuit, Harris showed how skilled he was on a number of fronts. He averaged 10.3 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.1 blocks, 1.4 steals, and shot 38% from three point range. During his high school season, he averaged 18.8 points and 8.1 rebounds a contest.

The Hawkeyes will have completion to land the 2026 standout from Washington. He has already visited Boise State and he has offers from Washington, Oregon State, Gonzaga, and Virginia Tech. He would like to make his college choice by November or December.
