Hawkeyes talk win over Cougars
The Iowa basketball team had to dig deep down the stretch on Friday night and led by Owen Freeman, Payton Sandfort, and transfer guard Drew Thelwell, the Hawkeyes answered the bell and pulled away for a 76-66 win.
Following the victory, Sandfort and Freeman spoke from the stage about their part in the win. Freeman, who was back home playing in Moline, talked about the fan support that the team received on Friday night and what it meant to him. Sandfort discussed the plays down the stretch to secure the win and Iowa making foul shots in the final minute. We also spoke with Thelwell about his massive three point field goals in down the stretch to help Iowa get over the finish line.
