Wide receiver Seth Anderson is headed to Iowa. The 6-foot-0, 178-pound transfer from Charleston Southern announced today that is going to be a Hawkeye.

“I really enjoyed the culture at Iowa,” said Anderson. “My family and I loved it and I can see myself playing at Kinnick.”

Anderson, who visited Iowa City on December 16, plans to enroll at semester in January. He chose the Hawkeyes over finalists Georgia Tech and Kansas.

Background

A Georgia native, Anderson is the son of former NFL wide receiver Flipper Anderson.

As a redshirt freshman, he had 42 catches for 628 yards and seven touchdowns at Charleston Southern in 2022. That led to offensive freshman of the year honors in the Big South Conference and he was a finalist for the Jerry Rice National Freshman of the Year Award in FCS football.

Impact for Iowa

With three years of eligibility remaining and the ability to enroll at semester, Anderson will not only provide immediate help but also has time to grow in the Iowa program.

Through the transfer portal, the Hawkeyes have now added quarterback Cade McNamara and tight end Erick All, along with Anderson, as they look to revamp their offense in 2023. There are still a few key needs left to fill as we detailed in our article yesterday – Top Transfer Targets.
