If Colin Rice were a stock, I would certainly be buying right now. In the past few days the 2026 wing forward has nabbed offers from Northwestern, Nebraska, and also Iowa. That’s three Big Ten offers, including one from the home state Hawkeyes.

“The Iowa offer means a lot especially being from here it’s hard to go anywhere without seeing that logo,” he said Thursday evening after announcing the offer on social media.

This past season, Rice, who is 6-foot-7, helped lead Waukee Northwest High School to a runner-up finish in Class 4A in the state of Iowa. Rice averaged 12.5 points, 7.2 rebounds, and shot 53.6% from the floor. He is also a strong three point shooter, hitting 37.8% from distance this past year.

One of his high school teammates this past year is Peyton McCollum, the oldest son of new Iowa head coach Ben McCollum. While he was leading the Drake Bulldog program, McCollum had offered Rice and today after he visited Iowa, that offer was now good as a potential Hawkeye.

“It’s been fun to get to know McCollum this past year and his staff has been very fun to talk to so I’m excited for them to be able to show what they can do at such a high level in Iowa”

This spring and summer, Rice will be playing with the Martin Brothers AAU program in the Under Armor Circuit.
