Iowa women's basketball celebrates with fans
It was the the perfect night for a celebration and the Iowa women’s basketball team held one with their fans on the footsteps of Old Capital. With warm temperatures and partly sunny skies upwards of ten thousand Hawkeye fans showed up to honor the NCAA runner-up basketball team.
Iowa just wrapped up their season earlier this month with a remarkable run to the NCAA title game. Along the way, the Hawkeyes won two sold out games at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, beat Colorado and Louisville in Seattle to punch their ticket to the Final Four. Then they beat defending national champion and previously undefeated South Carolina before falling to LSU in the title game.
