Georgia Tech transfer point guard Chazadi ‘Chit-Chat’ Wright has committed Iowa per On3’s Talia Goodman. Her potential commitment was initially hinted at by Twitter’s Skim Mulkey with a gif of Caitlin Clark being posted on Tuesday afternoon.

The former four-star recruit spent one season with the Yellow Jackets program and follows her former assistant coach LaSondra Barrett, who was recently hired to the Iowa coaching staff. With the commitment, the Hawkeyes now have just two roster spots available for the 2025-26 season.

A talented 5-foot-4 guard from Atlanta, Georgia, Wright was rated as a four-star, #49 player in the 2024 recruiting class by ESPN. A multi-sport athlete in high school, Wright competed in both basketball and track. She attended Wesleyan School, earning First Team all-state honors twice, including winning Region 7 Class A Player of the Year as a senior during the 2023-24 season. She chose Georgia Tech over Vanderbilt, Boston College, James Madison, Seton Hall and several other programs.

During her true freshman season at Georgia Tech, Wright made an immediate impact, appearing in all 33 games with 12 starts, including a start in the NCAA Tournament matchup against Richmond. She was a contributor in several categories, averaging 7.2 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game while her 25.3 minutes per contest ranked third on the team. Chazadi shot 37.1% from the floor, 32.3% from three-point range and 88.6% from the free-throw line. Wright scored in double figures in ten games, including a season-high 16 points against Pittsburgh. She also tallied 5+ assists in six games, with a season-high 7 assists on two occasions (Rice, Clemson).

HawkeyeReport will have a full breakdown of Wright’s game soon, including a look at her shooting stats, shot chart and film review.
