Just as I did previously for the men’s wrestling program, the purpose of this breakdown is to provide Hawkeye fans with up-to-date information on every aspect of the current roster for the women’s program – your reigning NCWWC National Champions and NWCA National Duals champions.

And just as was the case with the men’s breakdown, this is actually distilled from an ongoing, multi-colored Excel document that I keep updated as relevant team-related news occurs.

(Those interested may view that document in all its glory RIGHT HERE.)

The goal is for this to serve as a one-stop shop for Hawkeye fans to keep up with everything from eligibility information to roster demographics, a projected depth chart and more all the way up to and through what will be the second official competitive season in program history beginning this November.

Obvious caveats aside that redshirt/weight class status(es), etc. may change at any point during the months ahead, the following is my best estimation as to how things will shake out based on the information currently at my disposal.

*An important note to remember: NCAA women’s programs can qualify up to 15 individuals for the national tournament at year’s end – so, just as they did in 2023-24, the Iowa women are likely to earn double qualifiers at half of the 10 contested weight classes this coming season (thus the various ‘AND’ designations throughout the depth chart to signify multiple qualifiers at one weight.)

This Iowa roster is so loaded – in my estimation no fewer than 26/32 athletes enter the year as legitimate All-American threats – that trying to project a 2025 postseason lineup right here and now is largely a fool’s errand.

Even so, I’ll play the part just for the heck of it.

(But please don’t hold me to this.)

It’s also unclear at this time how head coach Clarissa Chun will decide to deploy redshirt years, particularly for various first and second-year Hawkeyes.

During the program’s ‘soft opening’ of 2022-23 the entire roster took an obligatory redshirt, but with the flexibility to choose in 2023-24 only 2/13 eligible athletes were ultimately given the designation.

Now that her program is both deeper and more mature in its life cycle than ever before it’s possible that Chun may elect to redshirt a much larger number of Iowa’s true freshmen and sophomore classes this coming season.

Don’t worry, as those (and any other developments) do or don’t come to pass I’ll be here to adjust this document accordingly.

Until then, enjoy!
