Jan Jensen, Hawkeyes recap their win over Toledo
Still unranked? Doesn’t matter. The Iowa women’s basketball team is letting that fuel their fire and on Wednesday night, the Hawkeyes left no doubt in their 94-57 victory over the Toledo Rockets. They used a 23-2 run to open up a 28-10 lead after the first quarter and were able to cruise to a win. Iowa is now 3-0 for the 12th time in the last 13 seasons.
Jan Jensen met with the media after the game to discuss the team’s ability to dominate the game from start to finish, their improvements on the defensive and how Taylor McCabe adjusted to coming off the bench. She also about her upcoming homecoming trip to Drake on Sunday.
We also got to talk with Hannah Stuelke and Taylor McCabe in the postgame press conference. Stuelke finished with a team-high 17 points and nine rebounds. She spoke about how a healthy knee has helped her this season, as well as her improvements at the free throw line. McCabe finished with 14 points and four made three-pointers. She talked about coming off the bench, as well as her upcoming matchup against her younger sister Peyton McCabe at Drake.
