Jermari Harris to miss Iowa's season opener
The return of Jermari Harris to the Iowa starting lineup is going to have to wait at least one more week. The junior cornerback was ruled out of Iowa’s season opening game against Utah State.
In his place, Iowa will start DeShaun Lee or TJ Hall at the cornerback position opposite Cooper DeJean. Lee is a redshirt freshman from Michigan and did not see action last season in the first year on the Iowa campus. Hall played last season as a true freshman.
Harris has been listed as Iowa’s starting cornerback since the spring after missing last season due to injury. Prior to that, the Chicago area native played in a pair of contests in the 2019 season. Then in 2020, Harris saw action in five of Iowa’s eight games.
